Dear WLF Member Organization,
WLF has a long-standing relationship with Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), and for several years these organizations have worked together to support youth and high school lacrosse coaches throughout the state of Wisconsin. To that end, WLF has coordinated three Live PCA Workshops (delivered via Zoom), two for WLF coaches and one for WLF parents and guardians, to attend over the next couple weeks. All three events listed below are:
– Live and interactive
– FREE for you as a WLF program.
– Only requirement is pre-registration (see individual links for each Workshop below).
– The first two offerings fulfill the PCA-requirement of the US Lacrosse Level 1 Certification, and are open to all coaches no matter their coaching experience.
– Coaches and program administrators are encouraged to share the parent/guardian workshop with the families of their programs.
We hope you will join us for one of the following events.
IMPORTANT: All participants MUST pre-register for the workshop(s) using the respective link(s) below

Hello Stripes,
Like you… I cannot wait to get back out on to a Lacrosse Field! Unlike previous years, this year will be a sprint instead of a marathon.
In preparation for the Spring High School & Youth Boys Season, here is where we are…
The state HS season begins on April 11th and will end on June 3. Followed by the Playoffs and Championship Saturday on June 19 .
The BVLA, MAYLA Youth will be starting in mid-April and concluding in mid-June. Badgerland Youth will be starting on May 1 and going through mid-June.
Between April 14 – June 19 there will be a lot of games in Wisconsin. There will be games (weather permitting) just about (weekends included) every day.
TRAINING DATES ARE SET, Paul Espinosa will lead the trainings for Wisconsin. THANK YOU, Paul!
Virtual training will take place on Sunday nights from 8:00 pm – 9:30 pm beginning March 7 and ending on April 11 with NO training session on Easter (4/4)
Field Training for the BVLA is scheduled for Saturday, April 10, with time and location TBD. MAYLA and Badgerland are still being determined.
PLEASE COMPLETE SURVEY TO ENROLL IN TRAINING SESSIONS: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LKKPWDX
Youth training day will be virtual on Sunday, March 21. Time is TBD, plan for about 4 hours. If you go through the high school training you don’t need to attend the youth training, but if you only plan to work youth games then you should plan to attend this training. All high school age kids that plan on Officiating this season will attend this training, but are welcome (and encouraged) to listen in on the HS Training on Sunday nights.
Please make sure your US Lacrosse and WILOA memberships are up to date. The US Lacrosse test is available and must be completed before the start of the season and can be found on the US Lacrosse website along with many helpful videos. I would recommend watching the rules interpretation video before taking the test.
Finally, if you know of anyone that would be good at Officiating… please help recruit them! We will always need more good Officials.
On behalf of the Trainers and Assignors… Thanks for the work and dedication. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
See you on a field somewhere,
Randy Kohn

Rules & Regulations for the 2020-2021 WLF Season
Notes of Caution:
Sunday, the Board of the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation approved a plan to structure the 2021 high school season into two separate tracks. One track for those boys’ and girls’ high schools which can play a season more in line with a standard WLF high school season and programs which may be limited due to mandated start dates or facilities limitations.
Both the girls’ and boys’ games will be divided into the following high school season tracks.
Each conference will have its own postseason tournament with a champion crowned from each to tentatively be played 6/18/21-6/19/21 at Carroll University. Each conference will also have its own All-State Selection Process.
“We have spent a great deal of time talking with coaches and ADs from around the state. While our plan may not be perfect, the WLF has attempted to do what is in the best interest of our student-athletes, member programs and lacrosse at a statewide level at a very challenging time,” said Erin Ennis, WLF President.
The WLF board requests that member programs are flexible and understanding of the constantly changing landscape surrounding school districts and modifications made related to COVID and the sports seasons.
All current and future planning are subject to school, local and state health recommendations and laws.
