Remembrance of Erin Ennis

Erin M. Ennis

1966-2023

Traveling the Road of Life, on occasion we connect with someone that makes an impact that is so deep-rooted, it remains forever.  Erin Ennis was one of those people.  Having first met Erin when he was my son’s high school lacrosse coach, I knew he was a champion for kids not only by his words but by his actions.  He walked the walk and talked the talk.  He aspired for his players to do great things.  He was there for them all.  He showed them respect and in return, they respected him.  They lost lacrosse games together; they won lacrosse championships together.  Life lessons. It was a team effort.  Respect each other, respect the game.  These were some of the on-field lessons that were embedded in his players and carried out off the field.  As a lacrosse family, he had hoped that they would fall in love with the game of lacrosse like he did.

As Erin continued coaching and through his statewide leadership, he never wavered from being a champion for kids.  Erin worked to grow the game of lacrosse, having played it earlier in his life, until he absolutely could not.

This time of year, is difficult as we remember the loss of a friend.  Not only a personal friend, but that to Wisconsin lacrosse.  We lost a member of our family too soon.  Erin had asked that a memorial fund be established in his name to help support Wisconsin youth lacrosse when he wasn’t here any longer to do it himself.

On this one-year anniversary of Erin’s passing, please consider a donation to the Erin Ennis Youth Lacrosse Fund as we continue to support Erin’s legacy and that of youth lacrosse.

Donations should be made to and mailed to:

Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation (memo line:  Erin Ennis Youth Lacrosse Fund)
