The Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation has voted to restructure the governing board in order to create a slimlined, more responsive organization and clarify the nomination and election process.
“Over the past year the a WLF subcommittee has been involved in an analysis for the best method and structure to serve the current constituents of lacrosse in Wisconsin”, said Erin Ennis, President of the Wisconsin Lacrosse Federation. “This new construct will position Wisconsin Lacrosse for the support it requires for future growth and governance.”
Said Ennis, “The idea is to create a smaller board but engage those who want to be involved, not on a board level but perhaps on a committee or volunteer basis. All of the new board members are encouraged to create committees to engage a larger, more involved state lacrosse community.”

Nomination process – 50% of board positions will continue to come up for election each year. Anyone can be nominated for consideration by any Wisconsin based US Lacrosse member, including themselves.
Two new / combined positions will come up for election for a one-year term in 2018 and then a regular 2-year term in 2019.
Board elections –
- Each WLF Member organization, as outlined in the WLF bylaws, will have one vote for electing WLF board members.
- With a 30 day notice annually, member programs must register one person to cast the votes on behalf of that organization. Failure to register by the deadline will forfeit the right to cast a vote in that year’s election.
- Current board members also have the right to vote in the election without registering.
- Each individual person will only be allowed one vote, regardless of multiple program affiliations or registrations.
- In the case no one has been nominated for a position, write in candidates will be considered. For a write in candidate to be elected, that person must have a minimum of 10 votes. In the case no write-in candidate achieves the 10-vote threshold, each person receiving a write-in vote will be considered for the position by a vote of the WLF board at the next board meeting.
